Matvey Kayf

Matvey Kayf was born in Moscow in 1987. Grew up in a small Ukrainian military town, then came back to Moscow in mid-1990s. He studied Russian traditional lacquer art in college. After doing his mandatory service in the Russian military he was known to make his living selling matryoshkas in the streets.
In the recent five or six years he guided people to nowhere, making abstract assemblages, collages and samizdat (self-publishing). He is prolific as a graphic artist for printed matter.
